About Swedish Institute and the background of Baltic Audience Links Project.

“Save the Sea, Connect the Region, Increase Prosperity”

The objective of Swedish Institute’s Baltic Sea Unit is a development and strengthening of Swedish relations and co-operation in the Baltic Sea Region.
The Institute provides Swedish institutions with funds, support, advise, and help in finding partners in Baltic Sea Region.

The project activities should contribute to economically, environmentally and socially sustainable growth and development in the Baltic Sea region and vicinity through its activities there.

The project activities must be aimed at developing conditions for long-lasting sustainable relations between organisations in the Baltic Sea region. The basis of activities for developing relations is the meeting between individuals and organisations whose aim is to support and stimulate the development of mutual and sustainable relations, partnerships and alliances.

It is also important that the project address a challenge in one of the following documents – the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, the EU’s Eastern Partnership or the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan – or be in line with ambitions for a closer partnership with other countries in the Baltic Sea region, including Russia.

This is how Intercult’s SE (together with River//Cities Foundation and Laimikis It) Baltic Audience Links project came to light.

SI’s mission regarding the Baltic Sea, commissioned to SI by the Swedish Government, is governed by following strategies and partnerships:
